Mount Popa and the Taung Kalat Monastery that sits atop this 2418 foot volcanic plug in central Myanmar. The volcano last erupted about 250,000 years ago and is about 30 miles from the ancient city of Bagan. To reach the monastery you need to climb 777 steps barefoot that are frequented by pesky macaques and all that they leave behind.
