El Brujo is a remote complex of pyramid ruins of Moche - a bloody and fearsome culture that ruled Peru's north coast. Digging in the Moche Valley in 1899, German Archaeologist Max Uhle was the first to realize that the region held graves and ruins of a people then unknown to historians. The Moche reined from about A.D. 100 to 800.
